Last minute information

You've done the publicity, your flyers are up all over the shul and your members can't wait for Sunday morning. While it's not too late to change the menu, that's not what will make your Wrap work or be memorable.
Believe it or not, they're coming to you on Sunday morning for the tefillin and the instruction and the prayer. So make sure that your instructors are early, that the shaliach tzibur is in good voice and that you have plenty of ruach. A good start, a good middle and a "USY" style Aleynu to end, with the 3 part harmony you remember from Convention 1976 in Orlando (we were in the back left corner). Make it fun to be in shul! Here are some things you can do TODAY to make sure Sunday is your best Wrap ever.

  1. ANNOUNCEMENT
Give the rabbi/president/staff announcer a well crafted announcement to read on Shabbat. Here's a template you can copy and paste.
Sunday February 7th will be an important event for all Conservative/Masorti synagogues in our Global Conservative Movement.
It is the day for the tenth World Wide Wrap. What's the a World Wide Wrap? If you've been reading our synagogue publicity you know that its a date which has been designated by the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs, the male volunteer arm of our Conservative Movement, for us to consider how we on a community level can more effectively understand and utilize the mitzvah of tefillin.
Congregations all around the world have pledged specific numbers of people will attend morning services on February 7th.
Please, if you have never learned this will be a wonderful opportunity to do so. If you already wear tefillin please attend this special event and be counted. A Special program has been developed, a special instructional film is available as are personal trainers and extra sets of tefillin should you not have a pair.
      MENTION TIME AND PLACE
  2. TIME
Have your committee come early to make sure everything is ready.
  3. PHOTOS
Bring a camera or two and take photos. As always, we'll have the Report pages up on Sunday morning, along with photos from the "land down under" as Australia's Sunday morning is our Saturday night.
  4. VIDEO WRAP INSTRUCTIONS
Bring along a laptop that connects to the internet and join the first World Wide Wrap World Video Conference. We expect clubs from all over the world to join us and we might have as many as 100 online at the same time. You laptop needs a built in camera to join in the fun. A video projector will let everyone be involved. Here are the instructions! You don't need to buy any software, we're using a product called Adobe Connect to do this and it's been sponsored by Interactivepages in Toronto.
  5. CONTRIBUTE
Each year we collect funds to purchase tefillin for our Masorti brothers and sisters who cannot afford them. We've sent hundreds of pairs of tefillin and nearly a thousand mezuzot to Latin America using funds contributed at the Wrap. Pass a hat, ask for a donation, write a check. Send the funds to the
